In addition to the above, ensure your FGAS qualified maintenance provider carries out the following steps to help prevent HVAC breakdowns:
- Clean and Inspects Coils: Dirty coils can hinder heat transfer and cause your HVAC system to work harder, increasing the risk of breakdowns. Regular inspections and cleaning of both the evaporator and condenser coils will remove the build-up of dirt and debris.
- Lubricate Moving Parts: HVAC systems consist of various moving parts that require proper lubrication to operate smoothly. Regular lubrication of motors, fans and bearings will minimize friction, reduce wear & tear and extend the lifespan of your equipment.
- Check all Electrical Connections: Sometimes electrical connections can work loose causing product failure, damage to control boards etc.
- Check Air On and Air Off Temperatures: To ensure the unit is working efficiently and is working as it should.
